Some young people supported by FNC’s scholarship and other programs do not want to or are not capable of continuing their formal college level education after taking the SLC exam. For such students, and for other students from the outside who have been referred to us, FNC has established a Vocational Education and Career Counseling (VECC) program. VECC offers career counseling to the students to help them determine their own aptitudes, and what careers might interest them, what careers are in demand in the market, and to choose appropriate training programs, including such skills as radio/TV maintenance, electrician, plumbing, mobile phone repair, cooking, and automobile and motorcycle repair, driving, etc. FNC also operates a Learning center as part of the VECC that provides basic computer training and some English language instruction.

Part of this program is supported by funding from NYOF and part by the Western Union Foundation. Training is provided in the following areas, among others: basic financial literacy, various handicrafts production, driving, beautician’s skills and mobile phone repair.
