Kinship Care Program

FNC has introduced to Nepal the concept of Kinship Care for those children who may not have parents, but who do have some other relatives willing and able to look after them.

In such cases,  FNC assists the child’s relatives by paying for the cost of their education and other necessary support such as living costs and medical expenses.

The whole strategy of Kinship Care is to provide protective, home-like care to these children that ensures their security, as well as loving care. The custodians of these children who receive support from FNC remain accountable to their actions and behaviors to both the child and the FNC.

We are increasingly becoming aware that in the long term, family roots, family ties and identifying  oneself with the community are some of the values which are highly important in the lives of the children. Therefore, we are working on expanding this program in the days to come.
