Nutrition outreach program
Posted on May 15th, 2009 in BlogNutritional Rehabilitation Home (NRH) Project conducted a two days long nutrition camp in Hapsichaur, Thakre VDC of Dhading district. The camp was conducted in Thakre VDC (Village Development Committee) as many of the children have been coming to NRH by this VDC and it was in our roster for a potential place for the outreach camp since 2007.
The BSN Nursing Program from North Island College (NIC), Vancouver Island, BC, Canada was interested to provide financial support to NRH for conducting a camp where they could involve their nursing students in the implementation of the camp. To utilize this golden opportunity, NRH organized a two day long nutrition camp. A group of 20 people consisting of 2 Doctors, 2 Nurses, 2 Cooks, a Field Supervisor, a Dietician, a Manager from NRH, a logistic staff from FNC and a Nutrition Coordinator from Nepal Youth Opportunity Foundation (NYOF) formed the team which also included six NIC nursing students and their instructor. The team travelled early in the morning to Thakre, Dhading on May 14 by the school bus of FNC.
